Clickbait title but this has been bothering me for a while with most of you guys and I'm looking for some answers or at least understanding why this is a thing.

Lately, every time I log on chat (and the people on are regulars) I see messages like this:

crap ft
brb Macroing
whats a macro
reported
WDNC is a terrible person
puffin's macroing lol

Logging in day after day and seeing this stuff makes my blood boil, and I feel like this is irrational of me and try to understand what you are gaining out of this. These messages almost NEVER add anything to a reasonable conversation. I can guess its a part of making fun about somewhat taboo topics or that our younger players see the veterans talking like this and picking up on the lingo.

Yea that's true, it is mostly the economy who copies cless alot but he does say the same things in chat over and over and the people see its said a lot so that why I assume people say it so much but I could be wrong

It really is just picking up on what goes around on the chat, i guess its like inside jokes that most of us dont even understand but say it to fit in.

That is a very clever board title.

But anyways, it really is just picking up on what goes around on the chat, i guess its like inside jokes that most of us dont even understand but say it to fit in?

I originally started 'to meme' for the fun of it and because i saw myself as an outcast and being a 'meme' and joining a clan that was considered the underdog was a way for me to fit in. I never thought that things we said or did in chat would be picked up on so heavily because if i knew that it would be the only thing in chat i would have never done it. It was something funny or ironic to do at the time and was indeed considered an inside joke to say 'crap ft'. It was originally a funny thing because Athena did not ban someone if they said crap ft but was basically banning me for crazy things like 'doxxing members'. Which does seem like an extreme thing to do on a pokemon rpg but was honestly just a joke. 'Wise Words' and 'Indeed' 'Renowned Wisdom' was just something I said whenever i thought someone was actually trying to put forth effort into the chat but then was picked up on by every member again and made into a 'meme'. 'Reported' came from Fido reporting me for "doxxing" him and or trying to portay the general member of a community trying to stop people from rule breaking and or whenever someone did something unreasonable like training to level 900 in 3 days. 'wdnc is a terrible person' speaks for itself. 'Good Job' came from StrangeThings because that was basically the only thing they ever said in chat followed by celebratory emojis. In conclusion, this is why I 'memed'.

I say crap ft because I have crap for trade, there is no meme within it, i've said it long before shadow staff was around.

The macro meme is mostly due to everyone thinking everyone else is cheating, and at this point, if you've done any kind of a decent job at anything in this game, we just respond with sarcasm instead of congratulatory statements.

as for the rest, who cares, it's a joke people share in order to make the game more fun for them, the entire point of a game is to have fun and at some point tpk has lost sight of that small fact, it's becoming a tedious task to even play lately with all the complaints over the stupidest things, point in case, memes.

but why must I enter a signature, what if I want to be basic? Why didn't you ever think of that? thanks karen.

Flatter covered pretty much a lot of those explanations of where something came from. Typically among young people if someone does something they all do it the whole "monkey see monkey do thing" I see it fairly often in my siblings if one person starts something THEY ALL do it. You'll see this sort of behavior in almost all games were someone who is looked up to or idolized in the game will do or say something that will get picked up. Examples, I forget the exact word you used, but smashing buttons on guitar hero is called something because of an influential person in the GH community did it very often so it got named that. The famous "Leroooy Jenkinnnss" thing was just a joke between few people in a WoW group that went viral. So yeah Cless and I see it a lot that something that's a joke between us people will take and try make it their own and that's just how people are. Things like the WDNC being a joke is because of his erratic behavior for cheating most known, but the childish act of his ways so to some if you macroed you'd be pulling a WDNC depending on if you played dumb. In the admin world the whole "whats a macro" is such a common question to those who cheat and play stupid not knowing what they did so to staff it's hilarious when people are too predictable and maintain the same behaviors even without knowing each other. If someone does something consistently like misspelling a certain word all the time and completely oblivious of it then it's pretty funny especially if they're older and most things have spell check anyways. I'm not sure why it's so difficult and infuriating for you to understand simple humor things. I know folks with Aspergers or on the spectrum have issues detecting sarcasm and get really worked up over social things they don't understand which could be something you reasonably struggle with. People don't have to gain something out of everything they do it's just called having fun and being free. I'm afraid nobody can really help you mimic the same emotions or mind set of everyone else or understand how to process humor and sarcasm or tell you how to feel. If you don't want to or don't understand a trend doesn't mean you have to bash it and try to make yourself look superior and others "stupid" for enjoying themselves. Not everyone is going to fit your logic or ideal person. It's just not realistic.
